CLIENT: ADVANCED PERSONNEL SYSTEMS, INC.

April 2001: Purple Squirrel

MATCH WISELY AND LET NEW TALENT IN

With the slogan "Work locally, recruit globally," Advanced Personnel Systems, Inc., offers SmartSearch Online, a staffing management system available as a hosted, Web-based product or in-house software.

SmartSearch Online lets recruiters and HR professionals search for candidates by using plain-English query words and phrases, then view hits as ranked lists of names, along with resumes and contact records. With the resume, words used to search for the candidate are highlighted.

As your people glean the best-matched candidates from the database, more candidates seed themselves into the field of hopefuls over the Internet or through kiosks at employment centers. Your recruiters can search their resumes or application information as soon as candidates enter it.

In the meantime, candidates can view job postings on your Web site, create a self-profile that lets the Web site notify them of matching jobs, apply for jobs, and update their resumes. The software can even post jobs to external sites for you, automatically.

Customers of recruiters and staffing firms can add job openings, and you can offer them selected candidate resumes and performance statistics. Advanced Personnel Systems works with your company to integrate everything into your Web site. SmartSearch Online integrates calendars and schedules via Microsoft Outlook, and adds links between events on the scheduled and corresponding data records.

All the modules in SmartSearch Online are included in the price, with the exception of SmartMail 2K, which carries a one-time license fee. The data engine is Microsoft SQL Server 7.0. You'll need Windows NT 4.0 or 2000 running Microsoft Internet Server 4.0 or 5.0, and Microsoft Index Server and Transaction Server must be loaded on the Web server.

The system is customizable, and you can gain "complete" control over the system by purchasing a source code license. Learn more technical - as well as managerial - details by visiting http://www.smartsearchonline.com.
