SMARTSEARCH ONLINE HELPS GOVCONNECT 'CONNECT' WITH CANDIDATES, CLIENTS

OCEANSIDE, CA, July 27, 2001 -- SmartSearch Online from Advanced Personnel Systems, Inc. (APS; http://www.aps2k.com) is helping GovConnect better manage its resume flow. Doug Coull, APS' president, made the announcement.

With over 22 years of experience, GovConnect is a leading provider of electronic access solutions for government agencies from strategy to implementation. Through an installed base of electronic solutions in over 40 states, GovConnect has helped governments automate and process nearly 100 million transactions and collect over $20 billion in revenues. With over 300 employees nationwide, GovConnect provides consulting services in 22 states including California, Michigan, New York and Texas. GovConnect is based in Cincinnati, OH with offices in Indianapolis, IN and Waltham, MA, as well as project offices in various locations. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Renaissance Worldwide, Inc.

Kipp Seidl, GovConnect's staffing manager, said his company had been using Microsoft Outlook as its database to manage and host resumes.

"As an IT consulting firm, it's imperative that we find the best qualified candidates. APS offers us a better way to manage the resume flow and keep potential candidates well organized in a manageable database," he said.

With SmartSearch Online, Seidl said GovConnect can now manage applicants and search for specific skill sets.

"We no longer have to view each candidate applying for a job but can narrow it down according to key criteria that's relevant," he said. "We also use SmartSearch Online as a portal - we're able to manage open positions and post them on the Internet very easily. We open a requisition within SmartSearch Online and once opened, it creates a job on our career section of our Web site. People can thus apply to that job via our Web site."

Seidl added that the system's remote capability is also a big plus.

"I can access our database anywhere - if there's a snowstorm and I'm stuck in my house, I can still reach candidates," he said.

APS (http://www.aps2k.com) is an innovative leader in developing Internet-based solutions for the staffing industry. Established in 1985, the firm is based in Oceanside, CA, about 30 miles north of San Diego. The company's flagship product, SmartSearch Online (http://www.smartsearchonline.com), provides clients worldwide with the technology framework for their Internet recruiting strategy. SmartSearch Online is the only product offering wireless access and integration with Microsoft Outlook.
