SOFTWARE DEFINED RADIO FORUM LAUNCHING FIRST 2007 GENERAL MEETING WITH TEST & MEASUREMENT WORKSHOP

DENVER, CO, Jan. 15, 2007 -- The Software Defined Radio (SDR) Forum, (www.sdrforum.org), a nonprofit international industry association for reconfigurable wireless technology, will host an all-day workshop on using test and measurement equipment for SDR-based systems and networks. The workshop will be held Monday, Jan. 15, in San Diego prior to the Forum's first general meeting of 2007 (Jan. 16-18).

The workshop will feature presentations by leading companies in the test and measurement industry - Agilent, Anritsu, Elektrobit, Rohde & Schwarz, and Tektronix - detailing how their technologies can be used to support the development and deployment of SDR in the commercial, pubic safety, and defense markets.

The three-day general meeting will include sessions on SDR for commercial, pubic safety and avionics applications; cognitive radio; research and development; and design process and tools. In addition, focused plenary sessions will address the business aspects of the Forum, management of work, and approval of documents.

Both the workshop and the general meeting will take place at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel, Mission Valley, and are open to anyone interested in SDR technology, including non-Forum members. Additional details and registration information are available on the web at www.sdrforum.org/pages/whatsNew/whatsNewDetails.asp?id=319&news_cat=Forum+Meetings.
