SDR FORUM WILL KICK OFF GENERAL MEETING WITH DAY-LONG WORKSHOP ON RAPID PROTOTYPING & DEVELOPMENT

DENVER, CO, August 27, 2007 -- The Software Defined Radio (SDR) Forum, (www.sdrforum.org), a nonprofit international industry association for reconfigurable wireless technology, will conduct an all-day workshop on rapid prototyping and development on Monday, Sept. 17, in the Philadelphia suburb of Cherry Hill, N.J. The workshop will be followed by the Forum's general meeting (Sept. 18-20), where SDR development leaders from around the world will gather to discuss key issues related to the technology and its deployment.

The workshop will examine the use of SDR technologies in rapid prototyping. Major players in the SDR market - Anritsu, BittWare, Lyrtech, The MathWorks, PrismTech, Spectrum Signal Processing, Xilinx and ZeligSoft - will demonstrate how their products can benefit the wireless community in accelerating the development cycle for new wireless technologies, as well as in speeding the time to market or deployment for advanced wireless systems and networks used in the commercial, public safety and defense sectors.

The three-day general meeting will include sessions on SDR for commercial, public safety and avionics applications; cognitive radio; SCA testing & evaluation; smart antennas; research & development; and design process. In addition, focused plenary sessions will address the business aspects of the Forum, management of work, and approval of documents.

The workshop and general meeting will both take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill and are open to anyone interested in SDR technology, including non-Forum members. Complete details, including registration information, are available on the web at www.sdrforum.org/pages/whatsNew/whatsNewDetails.asp?id=385&news_cat=Forum+Meetings .
