NETWORK BOX ADDS NEW PUSH TECHNOLOGY SYSTEM WITH IMPROVED PERFORMANCE IN DELIVERING PROTECTION UPDATES

HOUSTON, June 10, 2009 -- Network Box Corp., a global managed security company, has completed migration of its patented new HQPUSH system to 11 network operating centers (NOCs) throughout the world, according to its American arm, Network Box USA, Inc. (www.networkboxusa.com). The new system offers improved performance and lets Network Box push out security updates to its customers more effectively.

Since its founding, Network Box has focused on optimizing its unique push technology as the best way to get updates onto its unified threat management (UTM) appliances, which it supplies to its customers for cost-efficient, comprehensive protection. The new HQPUSH system allows Network Box to continuously monitor all of its sources of security signatures and to push out changes almost immediately. Updates are concurrently installed on regional NOCs within three seconds of their release and on all end-user Network Box UTM devices - globally - within 45 seconds.

"This is orders of magnitudes faster than the industry standard," said Pierluigi Stella, CTO of Network Box USA. "That's because our new HQPUSH system is specially designed to minimize latency - the time it takes from when the update is available until its delivery begins."

In addition to the HQPUSH system's advantages over traditional push technologies, push technology, in general, offers significant advantages over pull technology, in which the end-user requests the updates. For example, push technology enables the managed security provider to make certain that updates are correctly installed and activated. It also makes optimum use of the provider's network for delivering updates, in both resource utilization and source of updates.
