LAS VEGAS, June 16, 2009 -- SkyWire Media, Inc. (www.skywiremedia.com) has enabled text messaging for OPERA v5.01.02 from MICROS Systems, Inc., which allows hotel and resort operators to quickly and efficiently communicate with their customers via text message to their mobile phone. SkyWire has integrated its Rooms Connect solution with OPERA - a leading property management system - allowing hotel and resort operators to send automated messages, as well as personalized customer notifications, from within OPERA. Rooms Connect communicates with OPERA via web services, and enables several features: Room Ready Alerts can be sent automatically to early-arriving guests, and the system can also send reservation confirmations, guest notifications and other messages directly to guests' mobile phones.
"Hotel and resort operators can now easily communicate with their guests directly from within the OPERA Property Management System," said Shawn Harris, president and CEO of SkyWire Media. "Room Ready Alerts are sent automatically, notifying early-arriving guests by text message that their room is ready as soon as it is made available in OPERA. Customers can also be sent an automated text message confirmation when they make hotel reservations, and hotel/resort operators can communicate with guests quickly, easily and unobtrusively."
Harris added that customers can also send a text message to let a guest know a package has arrived or a dining reservation has been made.
"In addition, as a part of the Customer Connect suite of products, Rooms Connect gives customers the ability to opt in to mobile marketing offers from the hotel or resort during their stay," said Harris.
Rooms Connect is one of the modular components of SkyWire's Customer Connect group of solutions. Customer Connect enables a wide range of messaging and alerting services for the hospitality and gaming industries. As with Rooms Connect and OPERA, many of the Customer Connect products integrate with existing systems, allowing for seamless and automated solutions. Customer Connect allows hospitality providers to better and more efficiently serve their customers by communicating with them via text message. Customer Connect also enables providers to build an opt-in mobile marketing database that allows them to deliver targeted text messaging campaigns through SkyWire's Mobile Connect marketing platform.
