Imagination Technologies Offers Game-Changing Products

Imagination Technologies, an international creator and licenser of semiconductor System-on-Chip Intellectual Property (SoC IP), designs processes: graphics processes, video processes, communications processes, and even its own central processing unit CPU.

Just recently, the company launched its most recent graphics processing unit (GPU) core family: the PowerVR G6 series. The Series6, which is based on PowerVR Rogue architecture, sets a new benchmark for high performance, ultra-low power GPU cores, scalable for markets from mobile and tablet to high end gaming and computing.

As 3D becomes more pervasive in our lives, the need for faster processing speeds has increased. GPU changes the user experience on any screen and provides a truly stunning realism for free.

The Series6 GPU can deliver 20 times more of the performance of current generation GPU cores targeting comparable markets.

In addition, it enables Imagination's partners to deliver amazing user experiences in devices from innovative "natural" user interfaces to ultra-realistic gaming. The architecture is designed to target the requirements of a growing range of demanding markets from mobile to the highest performance embedded graphics including smartphones, tablets, PC, console, automotive, DTV and more.

TMC CEO Rich Tehrani met with Tony King-Smith, VP Marketing/Technology Division, Imagination Technologies, at CES 2012. Their interview covers how Imagination designs processes of intellectual property that ends up on our mobile devices and tablets on a daily basis, and how products like Imagination's GPU Series6 is a game-changer for the industry.
