SYNERFAC CHOOSES SMARTSEARCH ONLINE

OCEANSIDE, CA, April 10, 2001 -- Synerfac Technical Staffing has selected SmartSearch Online from Advanced Personnel Systems, Inc. (APS; http://www.aps2k.com). Doug Coull, APS' president, made the announcement.

Synerfac, based in New Castle, DE, was founded in 1987. The company has 11 offices located in Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Synerfac serves the technical marketplace in three principal areas - information technology, engineering, and scientific.

According to Joe Peters, Synerfac's Vice President and Director of Operations, the company briefly considered purchasing its own server, but Peters said it would have required substantial upfront capital and long-term maintenance.

"Our core expertise is staffing, not maintaining software systems," he said. "It would have detracted from our business."

Peters said Synerfac previously had one staffing/recruiting database in each office.

"These multiple databases caused a lot of confusion because we couldn't see each other's notes and there was always the chance that a candidate would be interviewed more than once from different offices," he said. "We needed one reliable system that all of our offices could use anytime, anywhere. In fact, a number of employees have subsequently used SmartSearch Online from home during inclement weather."

Peters added that SmartSearch Online has become an important management tool for the company. Recruiters can keep notes and contact histories with a candidate's resume, store multiple resumes and edit them prior to sending them out, and can save the edited version.

"With SmartSearch Online we're now able to have our jobs posted to our Web site (http://www.synerfac.com), can search our job database instantly and easily find qualified candidates," Peters said. "It's also convenient to have a system with full Microsoft Outlook integration."
