SMARTSEARCH ONLINE PROVIDES FULL INTEGRATION WITH MICROSOFT OUTLOOK

OCEANSIDE, CA, April 20, 2000 -- Advanced Personnel Systems, Inc. (APS) announced that SmartSearch Online now provides integration with both Microsoft Outlook 98 and Outlook 2000. Doug Coull, APS' president, made the announcement.

SmartSearch Online is an Internet-based staffing management system that eliminates the need for companies to purchase expensive hardware, software or technical support. The system features APS' SmartSearch database and has a 'user-friendly' interface that can be learned in minutes. And, since it is Web-based, users can tap into their database anytime, anywhere they have Internet access.

SmartSearch Online provides full MS Outlook integration for scheduling and calendaring functions. It's the only Web-based system on the market that does this.

"SmartSearch Online enables users to easily interact with Outlook - if you want to schedule a callback to a candidate, the system will check for any conflicts and allows you to instantly schedule it in Outlook," Coull said. "When Outlook prompts you with a reminder, it provides a link that references the appropriate record in SmartSearch Online which, when clicked, starts your browser and takes you right to that record. You can also do the same with any job, contact, or candidate.

Coull added that the system also allows users to import and export contacts out of Outlook and into SmartSearch Online - and vice-versa.

"If you have a personal digital assistant (PDA) like a Palm Pilot or use a Timex data watch when you travel, you can export from Outlook directly into the mobile devices," Coull said. "So if you're in Cincinnati and log on to SmartSearch Online, you simply click a button and export your record into Outlook and from Outlook to the PDA or other mobile device. You can also link from Outlook to the mobile device."

APS (http://www.aps2k.com), established in 1985, is located in Oceanside, CA, about 30 miles north of San Diego. The firm pioneered Internet-based staffing management systems and is now a nationwide industry leader. In 1990, APS created SmartSearch, a jobs-driven, scanning-based staffing management system used by companies nationwide.
