AMF BOWLING SELECTS SMARTSEARCH ONLINE

OCEANSIDE, CA, May 20, 2002 -- AMF Bowling Worldwide, Inc., the world's largest owner and operator of bowling centers, has selected SmartSearch Online (http://www.smartsearchonline.com) from Advanced Personnel Systems, Inc.). Doug Coull, APS' president, made the announcement.

AMF Bowling Worldwide, Inc. is also a leader in the manufacturing and marketing of bowling products. In addition, the company manufactures and sells the PlayMaster, Highland and Renaissance brands of billiard tables. The company employs about 15,000 employees worldwide and is headquartered in Richmond, VA.

According to HR Manager Bethany Packett, AMF had been searching for a better system to help it process the thousands of resumes it receives from applicants worldwide.

"We receive about 500 resumes each month and processing and reviewing them by hand was becoming cumbersome," Packett said. "We needed a more seamless approach."

Packett said the company looked at systems from a number of other companies before selecting SmartSearch Online from APS.

"The system's remote capability is one of the most important features for us," she said. "It has greatly improved our productivity because our HR staff can access the database anywhere, anytime. We can scan through resumes quicker and combine notes in one common file. We also can instantly review candidates who had applied for positions months ago and asked to be considered for new openings."

APS (http://www.aps2k.com) is an innovative leader in developing Internet-based solutions for the staffing industry. SmartSearch Online is the only product offering wireless access and integration with Microsoft Outlook.
