AVENTIV LAUNCHES ENHANCED VERSION OF ITS NOMADESK VIRTUAL FILESERVER FOR NOMADIC PROFESSIONALS

BOSTON, June 9, 2008 -- At the Enterprise 2.0 Conference (booth #208) today, Aventiv (www.NomaDesk.com), a managed-service provider of Internet-based software solutions, introduced the latest version of NomaDesk, a virtual fileserver that lets business teams intuitively manage, edit, share, store and synchronize documents effortlessly and securely across company boundaries and the Internet.

NomaDesk 2.4 adds numerous enhancements to the previous version, such as email contacts integration, whereby the software is fully integrated into MS Outlook, Google and Yahoo mail so that users can more easily send FileLinks and invitations to workspaces. Other additions include:

  • better access for mobile users;
  • faster performance;
  • improved scalability for increased traffic and usage;
  • easier installation;
  • automated software updates; and
  • "bullet-proof" stability.

Like previous versions, NomaDesk 2.4 is fully compatible with Microsoft Windows and all commonly-used Internet browsers. It requires no additional hardware or server software installation and no virtual private network (VPN). Moreover, unlike other collaboration systems, NomaDesk workspaces are always available, whether online or offline. NomaDesk is ideal for independent and mobile teams of 2 to 20 users, enabling even small and medium-sized businesses to get a professional team-document workspace solution without training, complex software, expensive servers, or specialized IT consultants.

"NomaDesk empowers even the most mobile or globally dispersed teams - we like to call them nomadic professionals - to get all the benefits normally associated with VPNs and fileservers, and at a small fraction of the cost," said Jeff Jochum, Aventiv USA's chief marketing officer. "We do this by making business file networks radically easier to create, share and manage, ensuring that businesses never stumble because a file is out of date or out of reach."

NomaDesk is the first such solution built on Aventiv's VFN (virtual file networking) architecture, erasing the distinction between "web" and "local" files so that - regardless of where they originated - files automatically remain updated and synchronized, replicated across team PCs and web servers, encrypted and theft-proof, and accessible by authorization only.

NomaDesk 2.4 is currently in beta-test and is free to new users during this testing period, with registration and dashboard download available at www.NomaDesk.com.
