BERRYMAN & HENIGAR HELPING SOLANO COUNTY GENERATE MORE ENERGY

SAN DIEGO, CA, Jan. 8, 2003 -- Berryman & Henigar has been retained by the County of Solano, CA to provide plan checking and inspection services for wind turbine generators that are expected to generate more than 150 megawatts of power when finished in September 2003. Scott Kvandal, president of Berryman & Henigar made the announcement.

Solano County, population 400,000 is about 60 miles northeast of San Francisco. County seat is Fairfield. Between 89 and 139 wind turbine generators are being installed on 6,000-acres in the Collinsville-Montezuma Hills wind resource area near Rio Vista. The generators are between 200 to 300 feet high; the larger towers will have blades 48 feet long.

Berryman & Henigar will be working closely with county officials and Florida Light and Power, which is constructing the turbines. The $150 million project also includes wind turbine generator pads, about 23.5 miles of new access road, 26 miles of underground and overhead utility lines, a new substation, and an operations and maintenance building.

The firm will be conducting inspections of the patented foundation system, inspecting the high strength steel and concrete, and making sure that all grounding, bonding and grid connections are done correctly.

Once completed, the project is expected to generate much-needed energy for the State of California.
