BERRYMAN & HENIGAR SIGNS FIVE-YEAR PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT CONTRACT WITH CITY OF ORANGE, CA

SANTA ANA, CA, Jan. 22, 2001 -- Berryman & Henigar announced today it has been awarded a five-year contract to provide Pavement Management System Services to the City of Orange, California. Berryman & Henigar will provide the city with a comprehensive pavement and infrastructure management program, including pavement design, field survey and geographic information systems.

In addition, the parties signed an addendum to the contract agreeing to comply with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Statement 34 requirements. Statement 34, released last June, is expected to restructure much of the information local governments have reported in the past. The information will now include financial reporting requirements involving all capital assets¾including infrastructure such as roads, bridges, tunnels, drainage and water and sewer systems.

"We at Berryman & Henigar are extremely excited about this contract for several reasons. First, we think it says a lot about our commitment and reputation in the industry to receive a five-year contract when the typical contract is year-to-year," said Project Manager Peter Bucknam. "Secondly, we're building a foundation with the city for other data management systems to be put in place."
