BERRYMAN & HENIGAR OPENS PALAU OFFICE

KOROR, Republic of Palau, May 4, 2000 -- Berryman & Henigar has opened an office in the Republic of Palau. Scott Kvandal, P.E., executive vice president, made the announcement.

Palau, Micronesia's westernmost island chain, is located between Guam, the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. Palau is a more than 400-mile-long archipelago.

According to Kvandal the firm will provide engineering and project management services for the Quest Resort at Ngerur Island and NECO Village Marina, now referred to as Malakal Village marina. Both are located in the state of Koror (the capital city is also called Koror); the marina is located on Malakal Island. Kvandal oversees Pacific Rim operations for Berryman & Henigar and has extensive experience in Palau, including providing consulting services for a countrywide water system and a 53-mile compact road project.

"We have specialized experience in water/wastewater systems, solid waste and construction management of infrastructure projects and we will be able to provide the government with another resource for obtaining engineering expertise," Kvandal said.

The Quest Resort will be a five-star resort with about 60 units. It will have a marina, central guest building, restaurants, spa, pool and other amenities. The Malakal Village Marina will include shops, eateries, entertainment, office space, boat slips and docking facilities for private and commercial recreational watercraft.
