BERRYMAN & HENIGAR AWARDED 13-MILE ROADWAY CONTRACT FOR LAKE COUNTY, FL

SAN DIEGO, CA, May 10, 2001 -- Berryman & Henigar has been awarded a roadway paving design contract by Lake County, FL. The contract implements the design phase of a multi-year roadway improvement project to be funded from the County's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Ray Berryman, CEO of Berryman & Henigar, made the announcement. The firm will provide surveying, preliminary and final engineering, permit applications, project management, coordination and field reviews.

According to Liz Eginton, CDBG Director in the Lake County Department of Community Services, the project is comprised of 13.6 miles of unpaved sand roads in a low-income neighborhood in northern Lake County, including a number of non-County maintained roads that are subject to drainage problems. "Emergency medical and police vehicles can't access some of these roads when these situations arise," Eginton said. "The CDBG project will make the roads in the neighborhood safer for all types of vehicles, as well as being a great improvement to the quality of life there."

Lake County, located in Central Florida, lives up to its name with more than 1,000 lakes located within its 1,200 square-mile border. The county seat is Tavares, about 30 miles northwest of Orlando.
