SAN DIEGO, Jan. 28, 2014 – San Diego-based Eco Sustainable Initiative, Inc. (ESI) has launched a Kickstarter campaign for ESI EcoDepot™, an online marketplace that sources eco-friendly local (and discounted) products and services.
According to Michael Nasim, co-founder and chief operations officer, EcoDepot will qualify products and services via its Green Grade standard.
"In essence, we'll be providing a trusted online marketplace while simultaneously building networks of environmentally conscious providers and consumers," said Nasim. "EcoDepot will help streamline the process of finding green products and services and promoting sustainability."
Nasim added that funds raised from the Kickstarter campaign (goal is $75,000) will help finish mobile and desktop apps that guide consumers with search and product navigation for EcoDepot; they'll also be provided with tools to view their own carbon footprint so they can monitor and measure the impact and benefits of their green purchasing.
Nasim is a seasoned tech entrepreneur with more than 20 years experience in developing, selling and marketing emerging software/hardware technologies, including mobile and wireless communications. He co-founded Trilinx, a 3D local positioning startup and owned Digital Electronics, a hardware/software consulting firm. Nasim has both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Kansas.
