DONATION FROM EZSCHOOLSUPPLIES, LLC HELPING MORE THAN 100 STUDENTS AT COLORADO MIDDLE SCHOOL

GOLDEN, CO, Feb. 18, 2008 -- A Denver-area middle school is benefiting from a significant donation of school supplies from Golden-based EZSchoolSupplies, LLC.

Niver Creek Middle School is located in Thornton, about eight miles north of Denver. The school was established in 1976 and serves students in grades 6-8 from Thornton, Federal Heights, Northglenn, Westminster and unincorporated Adams County. There are currently about 750 students, 59 faculty members and four administrators.

Niver Creek is a partner school affiliated with the University of Colorado at Denver and was the first ESL (English as a Second Language) center school in its district, working with students worldwide - over the years, for example, students have come from Bosnia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Mexico, Russia, Somalia, South Korea and Vietnam.

Sheryl L. Allen, a math instructor at the school, had first contacted the company when she was teaching at a nearby charter school last year - she had purchased school supplies for her daughter online.

Allen said that despite Niver Creek receiving funds from increased mill levies within the school district (the number of dollars a taxpayer must pay for every $1,000 of assessed property tax value) for its Tutoring School, there was still a serious shortfall of basic school supplies.

"Many of the parents simply can't afford to buy these supplies and even though a lot of the teachers have personally tried to help, we knew it wasn't enough," she said.

Allen again contacted EZSchoolSupplies, LLC and the company immediately agreed to help, donating 10 large white boards for classrooms, 100 composition books, dry eraser markers, binders, spiral-bound notebooks, pencils, sharpeners, staplers, scissors, paper clips, color pencils and more.

"Our Tutoring School program helps kids that aren't meeting basic proficiency reading state reading levels" Allen said. "Both the students and teachers are so grateful that EZSchoolSupplies LLC has lent a helping hand.
