FUTURE OF RECREATION MANAGEMENT IS HERE

SAN DIEGO, CA, April 2, 2002 -- GovPartner (http://www.govpartner.com) has introduced ReservePartner™, a comprehensive online recreation management system that enables the public to schedule, reserve and pay for Parks and Recreation Department classes and facilities via the Internet. Jon Rodriguez, president of GovPartner, made the announcement.

"With ReservePartner™, Parks and Recreation and Community Services managers and staff can easily respond to ever increasing service demands," Rodriguez said. "The system reduces paperwork, streamlines departmental processes and also provides municipalities with secure online transactional capabilities."

ReservePartner™ was originally developed by the City of Sunnyvale, which formed a public/private e-Government partnership with GovPartner granting exclusive license to the software and developing additional online features.

As Kristin Mingst of the City of Sunnyvale Department of Parks and Recreation describes, "because our City helped to develop ReservePartner™, along with input from recreation professionals in other cities, the system is full of time-saving features."

The City of Laguna Hills, CA has implemented ReservePartner™ as part of a comprehensive e-Government program that is already resulting in greatly enhanced convenience for its residents and streamlined, more cost-effective services on behalf of several departments - including Community Services.

Since online registration capabilities were made available on the City's Web site, half of all class registrations have occurred online. A registration was even logged at 11:14 p.m. on the first day the ReservePartner service was offered on the City's Web site.

"We decided to offer a complete suite of transactional systems - ReservePartner, PermitPartner and RequestPartner - through our City's Web site to improve service to the public and reduce the cost of doing business," said Laguna Hills Community Services Director Kim Monach.

ReservePartner presents the full recreation catalog online and registrations for classes are made possible on the City's Web site through a secure credit-card payment. This capability is especially useful as the City recently expanded its Community Services Department and is also opening a new recreation center in July.

The online system is hosted at a secure data center and managed by GovPartner, which helps the City avoid many upfront costs and assures the e-Commerce style system is maintained and tested 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

ReservePartner also avoids overbooking through real-time verification of class and facility space availability, and allows staff to easily and securely update information on their Web site.
