BARCELONA, SPAIN, Feb. 15, 2010 -- Imagination Technologies, the leading multimedia chip technologies company is working with partners including Digital Legends, Fishlabs, Teleca, Digital Aria and TAT to bring the best in new mobile multimedia and communications demonstrations and devices to MWC 2010 in Barcelona from February 15 – 18th.
Imagination’s POWERVR technology is the standard for mobile graphics acceleration, with more than 200m products already shipped, making it the only choice for developers targeting mobile graphics rich applications. The POWERVR Insider ecosystem includes over 16,000 members from whom Imagination has drawn some of the most innovative and exciting new content and products to show in a dedicated Application Zone on Imagination’s booth at MWC 2010 (Hall1 1E05).
Swedish UI technology and design company TAT The Astonishing Tribe will be revealing their new demo for the OMAP 4 Blaze platform as well as an updated version of their RedDish UI running on Motorola Droid. OMAP 4 is the latest SoC from Texas Instruments and Imagination’s stand will be the best place to see this stunning device put through its graphical paces.

DigitalAria, a developer of state of the art GUI framework technology, will be showing how graphics acceleration and advanced mobile platform technology provide OEMs with the power to create rich-media user experiences. They will be showcasing their latest UI demos featuring photo-realistic effects running on the Motorola Droid.

Fishlabs, specialized in developing premium 3D mobile games, based in Hamburg, will be demonstrating their award-winning Rally Master Pro in a dedicated version using OpenGL ES 2.0 shader graphics on the iPhone 3GS and Sony-Ericsson’s Satio, Vivaz and Kanna.

Digital Legends, Barcelona’s international award-winning games studio, are sure to be a show highlight with the debut of Extreme Ball, a demo custom made for Imagination to show off the capabilities of POWERVR SGX, which will be running on a big screen on stand as well as on a variety of platforms throughout Imagination’s booth.

Kishonti and Visioglobe will demonstrate smarter mobile phone navigation with map data and 3D content from NAVTEQ, the leading global provider of digital map, traffic and location data for in-vehicle, portable, wireless and enterprise solutions. The NaviGenie 3D Mobile Navigation Framework from Kishonti Informatics, a runner-up in the 2009 NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge® EMEA region, will be on display, showing how smart use of graphics and data handling can bring stunning navigation to phones.
Visioglobe will show an immersive 3D geographical and urban visualization engine, which makes it possible to navigate in real-time with an excellent image quality and fluidity, while retaining the possibility to add virtual objects or ads on-demand.
Imagination is a Global Award Sponsor of the 2010 NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge for the "Most Innovative Use of Graphics" is each of the five (5) regions: EMEA, North America, South America, India and APAC. One overall winner in the category will be flown to the UK for two days of intensive support, training and fun with Imagination engineers – and the chance to be featured at future Imagination events worldwide.
