IMAGINATION TECHNOLOGIES COMPLETES MANAGEMENT LINEUP IN ASIA AS COMPANY EXPANDS BUSINESS FOCUS IN THE REGION

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, November 16, 2006 -- Imagination Technologies, a U.K.-based leader in system-on-chip intellectual property (SoC IP), announced it has named Jay Lee director of sales in the company's newly opened office in Seoul, South Korea; he was formerly with Samsung and Pace Soft Silicon. Lee's appointment completes Imagination's lineup of key management in Asia, where it has expanded its presence to focus on the region's culture of developing industry-leading silicon-based devices.

Imagination opened an office in Japan in 2002 and, earlier this year, established its first office in Taiwan to serve that country's world-class fabless industry. In addition, PURE Digital, the company's consumer products brand, has an office in Shenzhen, China, thus providing Imagination Technologies with a Chinese base of operations.

"Asia is fertile ground for new technology developments and, given that Asian companies are well versed in selling to worldwide markets, they understand the value of multi-standard solutions and flexible IP," said Wasim Ahmed, Imagination Technologies' business development manager for Asia. "Semiconductor IP cores are the most effective way of accelerating the development of competitive SoC devices. It reduces business risk for our partners and lets them add value and differentiate in technology areas where they are strong."

One of the world's top 10 IP companies, Imagination Technologies provides technology to such partners as Centrality Communications, Freescale, Frontier Silicon, Intel, NEC, NXP (formerly Philips Semiconductors), Renesas, Samsung, Sega/Sammy, Sharp, Sunplus and Texas Instruments. Its customers include not only the world's major semiconductor manufacturers but also leading consumer electronics vendors (e g., DoCoMo, NTT, Mitsubishi, Pioneer, Samsung, and SKY), fast-moving fabless companies and technology start-ups. Imagination's world-leading technology covers key consumer application areas, including mobile graphics, mobile multimedia, mobile TV, video cores, and digital radio/audio.

To mark its increased focus in Asia, Imagination has been taking part in several key events in the region, including 2006 China International DAB/DMB Forum & Expo (Beijing); International Mobile TV Forum 2006 (Beijing); Fall Microprocessor Forum 2006 (Tokyo); and Embedded Technology 2006 (Yokohama). The company is also conducting a press tour of China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan and, last week, hosted a customer event at the British Embassy in Tokyo.
