KONEXX INTRODUCES DATA PORT ANYWHERE™

SAN DIEGO, CA, June 18, 2001 -- KONEXX (http://www.konexx.com) has unveiled Data Port Anywhere™, an innovative USB product that connects laptop modems to virtually any office or hotel telephone. Jason Treiber, KONEXX Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, made the announcement.

"Data Port Anywhere is ideal for mobile professionals," Treiber said. "Unprotected modems when plugged into digital phone lines are often destroyed by the phone system's high current levels. Data Port Anywhere protects modems from any damage caused by these direct connections to digital PBX phone lines."

Treiber added that a two-port USB allows users to operate other USB devices (mouse, printer, scanner, etc.) simultaneously.

"Since Data Port Anywhere draws power from your laptop's USB port, you don't need batteries or an AC adapter," Treiber said. "Users can access corporate networks or the Internet from any telephone anywhere and the product is compatible with all laptops and modems, including V.90 56K modems. Data Port Anywhere also comes with a four-position switch that makes it easy to adjust to the proper transmission level."

Data Port Anywhere is light and compact - 3.3 ounces, 3.5" x 2.25" x 1.1". It connects to the office or hotel telephone handset cord and requires a telephone with a modular handset, Microsoft Windows 98 or later and a computer with a USB port. A KONEXX driver is provided.
