SAN DIEGO, CA, Aug. 3, 2001 -- KONEXX (http://www.konexx.com) has unveiled Phone 2 PC, an innovative telephone recording solution for conversations or dictation, complete with a software and hardware interface. Curtis Salisbury, KONEXX Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, made the announcement.

"Phone 2 PC is easy to install and is ideal for a wide variety of applications," Salisbury said. "We are providing our customers with a feature rich recording platform that is user friendly."

Phone 2 PC applications can be used in a wide variety of vertical markets:

  • Sales and account executives can use Phone 2 PC for recording orders and offers.
  • Legal and medical professionals can record sensitive and proprietary information.
  • Real estate firms can use Phone 2 PC for recording terms of negotiated lease and sales transactions.
  • Insurance industry for claims and policy changes.
  • Industries that deal with numerous change orders in contracted services, such as construction and property management, will find Phone 2 PC a great tool to document and e-mail the change order.

  • Customer service representatives and dispatchers can record service/support calls, telephone requests and assignments.

"It's a cost-effective solution to record all important phone conversations and works with all telephone systems," Salisbury said. "Additionally, users can dictate instructions or messages through the handset for e-mailing or filing."

The Phone 2 PC interface (hardware piece) easily connects from the telephone handset directly to the sound card. An AGC (Automatic Gain Control) circuit ensures that both sides of any conversation are recorded at equal levels. The Phone 2 PC interface receives power from an AC adapter.

Phone 2 PC offers a wide variety of tools normally found in more expensive enterprise solutions. The user can record, file, annotate, edit, bookmark and e-mail any conversation or just dictate a file to an associate or client. Recordings may be saved on a LAN or directly on the PC. The GUI interface allows for ease of use and training.

The Phone 2 PC interface comes with a 90-day factory warranty. The product is compact - 3" (L) x 1.3" (W) x 1" (H). Weighing only 1.5 ounces, it's compatible with all PC desktop sound cards and recording software.

Phone 2 PC records conversations as compressed WAV files (GSM format utilizes approximately 7.2 Meg for one hour of recording) that can be e-mailed as attachments or archived for future reference. Conversations are also easily edited for sharing or filing purposes.
