MACTEC WINS AFCEE CONTRACT

ALPHARETTA, GA, Jan. 3, 2003 -- MACTEC, Inc. has been awarded a five-year contract from the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) to provide a wide variety of architectural and engineering services. Bruce C. Coles, chairman and chief executive officer of MACTEC (www.mactec.com) made the announcement.

Created in 1991, AFCEE is located at Brooks City Base in San Antonio, TX. AFCEE is the United States Air Force's principal environmental services agency, offering commanders a full range of technical and professional services in the areas of environmental restoration, pollution prevention, environmental compliance, natural and cultural resources conservation, facility design and construction management, and comprehensive planning.

MACTEC's San Antonio office will manage this contract. Although no specific tasks and projects have been identified yet, services that MACTEC expects to provide include:

  • Compliance assessments and plans
  • Design and construction
  • Environmental conservation and planning
  • Environmental quality
  • Environmental restoration
  • Permit applications, coordination, and negotiation
  • Risk management planning
  • Safety evaluations
  • Technical investigations and/or evaluations
  • Technology reviews
  • Value engineering services
