MACTEC IMPLEMENTING DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR BROWARD COUNTY MASS TRANSIT BUS FACILITY

ALPHARETTA, GA, Jan. 29, 2004 -- MACTEC Engineering & Consulting (MACTEC E&C; www.mactec.com) is providing a wide variety of construction and engineering services to Broward County for the reroofing of the Mass Transit Bus Maintenance Facility in Pompano Beach, FL. Bruce C. Coles, chairman and chief executive officer of MACTEC made the announcement.

Broward County (largest city in the county is Fort Lauderdale, about 30 miles north of Miami) retained MACTEC earlier this year for general architectural and engineering consulting services. The reroofing project is part of the consulting services contract.

"The roof is more than 20 years old and needs to be modernized," said Bob Dorn, Broward County Superintendent of Facility Maintenance for Mass Transit. "Our maintenance garage is a '24/7' operation and houses up to 200 employees, 160 buses and 30 mini-buses. Key services MACTEC will be providing us include preparing reports, planning, design services (including schematic design and construction documents), construction contract administration and post-construction activities."
