MACTEC UNVEILS ENHANCED VERSION 5.0 OF DART™ SOFTWARE

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, March 21, 2008 -- MACTEC Engineering & Consulting (MACTEC E&C) has introduced Version 5.0 of DART™ (Document Archive and Retrieval Technology). Bruce C. Coles, president of MACTEC E&C and chairman & CEO of MACTEC, Inc., the holding company (www.mactec.com) - made the announcement.

DART allows organizations to easily convert large amounts of paper documents into an organized electronic filing cabinet. The latest version includes the ability to insert Bates stamped (an organizational method to label and identify legal documents) numbers on a series of PDF files. This allows the documents to be used in litigation procedures. Another new feature is the ability to batch print PDF files.

DART is an open architecture system that uses non-proprietary standard software and file formats such as Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files and Adobe Acrobat Reader. Existing electronic files like word processing and spreadsheet files can also be included with or without conversion to PDF files. MACTEC scans and processes the documents and customizes DART to meet the client's specific search requirements; the client is then given a software license. There are also annual maintenance contracts available.

"DART is ideal for any document archival need - from administrative records to material safety data sheets to environmental permits," said MACTEC Vice President and Research Triangle Park Office Manager Greg M. Pagett, P.E. "To date we have successfully converted more than 2.5 million pages and even oversized maps for a wide variety of clients."

Clients utilizing DART have included: Army Medical Command, Army Materiel Command, Army Forces Command, Air Force Materiel Command, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, City of Philadelphia, and Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.

MACTEC, based in Alpharetta, GA, is an environmental, engineering, construction management, and infrastructure services firm with more than $450 million in annual revenue and 3,000 employees in over 80 offices nationwide. The firm has operated in Research Triangle Park since 1978. Additional North Carolina offices are located in Asheville, Charlotte, Fayetteville, Greensboro, Raleigh, and Wilmington.
