MACTEC COMPLETES INSPECTION SERVICES CONTRACT FOR MSD

CINCINNATI, OH, April 14, 2004 -- MACTEC Engineering & Consulting (MACTEC E&C; www.mactec.com) has finished a major environmental construction inspection services project from the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSD). Bruce C. Coles, president of MACTEC E&C and chairman & CEO of MACTEC, Inc., the holding company (www.mactec.com) - made the announcement.

MSD, established in 1968, serves the wastewater removal and treatment needs of over 800,000 customers in Hamilton County, OH. According to MSD Senior Engineer Greg Doherty, MACTEC conducted environmental construction inspection services for the Cooper Creek and Taylor Creek projects, both of which involved stream crossings.

"In Ohio, stream preservation is a big issue and these projects were required as part of our Ohio Environmental Protection Agency permit," Doherty said. "We needed a third party inspection firm to make sure the contractor abided by state regulations."

Doherty said that key tasks undertaken by MACTEC included reviewing the contractors' erosion control plan, conducting onsite inspection to ensure that erosion control measures were followed, and making onsite recommendations for the protection of riparian areas.

MACTEC, based in Alpharetta, GA, is a $434 million environmental, engineering, construction management, and infrastructure services firm with 3,300 employees in over 100 offices nationwide. The company has four offices in Ohio - Cincinnati, Hamilton, Miamisburg and North Canton.
