MACTEC AWARDED SURVEYING, SITE DESIGN PROJECTS FROM CITY OF ORLANDO

ORLANDO, FL, April 15, 2005 -- MACTEC Engineering & Consulting (MACTEC E&C) has been awarded three major contracts in Orlando. Bruce C. Coles, president of MACTEC E&C and chairman & CEO of MACTEC, Inc., the holding company (www.mactec.com) - made the announcement.

According to Orlando Office Manager Todd D. Schmitt, P.E., MACTEC is concurrently working on three significant City projects - 55 West on the Esplanade, Dinky Line Trail (Phase II), and Shingle Creek Trail:

55 West on the Esplanade:

This will eventually be Orlando's most upscale, mixed-used neighborhood, located in the heart of the city's central business district. It will be a completely renovated development consisting of residential and office condominiums, and retail establishments with an emphasis on restaurants and outdoor cafés. MACTEC is providing surveying, civil/site design, CMT (Construction Materials Testing) and threshold inspection services (in accordance with Florida law, certain structures require a special inspector to be involved during construction to verify that it is being built in accordance with plans and specifications). The surveying and civil design tasks are completed and the project is preparing for demolition of existing structure and new construction.

Dinky Line Trail (Phase II):

This project consists of a 14-foot wide paved trail that is proposed for construction between South Lake Formosa Drive and Princeton Street. The trail will traverse cross Lake Formosa via a concrete walkway. One of the integral project components is a low-level bridge consisting of two types of superstructure founded on steel pipe pile. MACTEC is the lead designer.

Shingle Creek:

MACTEC is serving as the lead designer of Shingle Creek, a multi-use trail that also is the starting point for rainwater flowing to Everglades National Park. The trail will be a 14-foot wide asphalt path for pedestrians, bicyclists and in-line skaters, and will eventually link central Florida from the West Orange Trail to Kissimmee. The current 4.5-mile segment being developed by the city is the first part of the ultimate 33-mile Shingle Creek Trail. Services provided by MACTEC include right-of-way coordination and permitting.
