MACTEC WINS $6 MILLION CONTRACT FROM USACE MOBILE DISTRICT

KENNESAW, GA, April 28, 2006 - MACTEC Engineering & Consulting (MACTEC E&C) has been awarded a $6 million, three-year construction management contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Mobile District. Bruce C. Coles, president of MACTEC E&C and chairman & CEO of MACTEC, Inc., the holding company (www.mactec.com) - made the announcement.

The task-order based contract includes a broad range of engineering services, including:

  • Construction inspection
  • Construction reviews
  • Preparation of contract-related documents and analysis, such as construction cost estimates, delay impact analysis, and claims and change order analysis
  • Quality assurance activities-emergency response, e.g., debris removal, temporary housing, temporary roofing
  • Review of contractor submittals
  • Shop drawing reviews

According to MACTEC Chief Engineer/Vice President Randy Knott, most of the assignments will be in the Southeast, but additional project work may be in other areas of the United States, Central and South America, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

MACTEC, based in Alpharetta, GA, is a $436 million environmental, engineering, construction management, and infrastructure services firm with 3,000 employees in over 100 offices nationwide.
