MACTEC UNVEILS WATERTOOL™ SOFTWARE

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, May 1, 2008 -- MACTEC Engineering & Consulting (MACTEC E&C) has introduced WaterTool™, innovative management and analysis software that enables U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) installations to manage backflow prevention and cross-connection control programs. Bruce C. Coles, chairman of MACTEC, Inc., the holding company (www.mactec.com), made the announcement.

"WaterTool is easy to use, free to DOD users and is helping more than 50 DOD installations nationwide comply with the Safe Drinking Water Act," said MACTEC Vice President and Research Triangle Park Office Manager Greg M. Pagett, P.E. "It's paperless too - users can input data using a PDA or Pocket PC and synchronize with a desktop or server-housed database."

WaterTool is also preloaded with all required United States Air Force reports (other reports are easily developed). The program is also preloaded with data so surveys and testing activities are simply an update of existing data - there's no need to reenter the same data from paper forms.

"This greatly simplifies initial data setup as well as future updates and can save both time and money," Pagett added.

MACTEC, based in Alpharetta, GA, is a leading infrastructure engineering firm focused on five strategic business practice areas: Facilities, Transportation, Water, Energy, and Telecommunication. With annual revenues over $450 million, MACTEC's 3,000-plus employees work from over 80 offices nationwide. MACTEC consistently ranks in the top 10% of Engineering News-Record's Top 500 Design Firms. The firm has operated in Research Triangle Park since 1978. Additional North Carolina offices are located in Asheville, Charlotte, Fayetteville, Greensboro, Raleigh, and Wilmington.
