MACTEC AWARDED TESTING AND INSPECTION CONTRACT FROM SAN DIEGO UNIFIED PORT DISTRICT

SAN DIEGO, CA, June 18, 2003 -- MACTEC Engineering & Consulting (MACTEC E&C) has been awarded a contract to provide quality a ssurance materials testing and inspection services for the San Diego Unified Port District. Bruce C. Coles, president of MACTEC E&C and chairman & CEO of MACTEC, Inc. (www.mactec.com) made the announcement. The contract is valued at $300,000 over three years.

According to MACTEC San Diego Office Manager Steve Brinigar, the firm s services will be in direct support of the Port District's quality assurance program for its Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects. These include several heavy industrial paving projects, various parking structures, seawalls and a wharf extension. MACTEC will provide special inspection and perform materials testing in its San Diego laboratory for concrete, steel, masonry, aggregates, and asphalt. According to MACTEC Senior Materials Engineer David Wilson, the firm is currently completing quality assurance services for the District's new General Services Facility. John Hutalla is the laboratory manager responsible for overseeing all materials testing requirements.
