MACTEC TO PROVIDE FULL RANGE OF CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING SERVICES TO AFCEE

ALPHARETTA, GA, Aug. 4, 2004 -- MACTEC Engineering & Consulting (MACTEC E&C; www.mactec.com) will be providing construction and engineering services to the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE). Bruce C. Coles, president of MACTEC E&C and chairman & CEO of MACTEC, Inc., the holding company (www.mactec.com) - made the announcement.

The projects to be implemented are part of a Worldwide Environmental Restoration and Construction (WERC) contract awarded to MACTEC's team partner, Albuquerque, NM-based Laguna Construction Company. The overall WERC contract is valued at $4 billion over five years.

Created in 1991, AFCEE is located at Brooks City Base in San Antonio, TX. AFCEE is the principal environmental services agency for the United States Air Force, offering commanders a full range of technical and professional services in the areas of environmental restoration, pollution prevention, environmental compliance, natural and cultural resources conservation, facility design and construction management, and comprehensive planning.

MACTEC's San Antonio office will manage their portion of the contract. Projects will encompass the following disciplines:

  • Community development
  • Environmental remediation (i.e., installing landfill caps, groundwater extraction systems)
  • Force protection
  • Homeland security
  • Light commercial
  • Military family housing
  • MILCON
