MACTEC Joint Venture Wins Multi-Million Dollar, Five-Year Navy Contract

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 24, 2010 – The U.S. Navy’s Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest, has awarded the Accord MACTEC 8A JV, an SBA approved Mentor Protégé Joint Venture between Accord Engineering Inc. and MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc., a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. Total contract capacity is $20 million and work may be performed at various Navy and Marine Corps installations in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah and other U.S. Department of Defense installations.  Allen Kibler, President of MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc., (www.mactec.com), made the announcement

NAVFAC Southwest is one of nine facilities engineering commands (FECs) in NAVFAC.  The command is comprised of over 3,000 Federal employees.  NAVFAC Southwest is responsible for the public works, planning, engineering/design, construction, real estate, environmental services, and acquisition/disposal of facilities and real estate in a four state area on the West Coast.

According to MACTEC Vice President Jim Hogan, P.E., the joint venture will support the Navy’s Installation Restoration and Military Munitions Programs, facility compliance, pollution prevention, and various environmental study projects. Key services will include planning; lab/analytical testing; site investigations/assessments; feasibility studies; hazardous/solid waste management; risk assessment; groundwater monitoring; and resource conservation.
