MACTEC AND ADOLFSON & PETERSON CONSTRUCTION FORM STRATEGIC ALLIANCE

KENNESAW, GA, Oct. 9, 2008 -- MACTEC's Facility Lifecycle Group, the facility asset management software and services operating division of MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc. (MACTEC), and Adolfson & Peterson Construction (A&P), have formed a strategic alliance to provide facility condition assessment, building lifecycle management and capital planning services to A&P clients for both new construction and existing facilities. MACTEC Chief Information Officer and Director of the Facility Lifecycle Group, Larry White, made the announcement.

The companies will be sharing a booth (#2050) at the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) World Workplace 2008 Conference & Expo in Dallas, Oct. 15-17. MACTEC and A&P are also making a joint presentation at the conference on Oct. 15th, 3:15-4 p.m., entitled "Integrating Construction and Life Cycle Management to Optimize Your Facility Condition and Usability."

"We'll incorporate MACTEC's and A&P's Facility Asset Management (FAM) services and MACTEC's Vertex® facility asset management software that will enable facility owners to make optimum repair and replacement decisions over the entire lifecycle of the asset - from new construction to disposition," said MACTEC Program Manager Russ Watson. "This will result in lower total cost of ownership, measurable return on investment (ROI) and extended service life."

FAM services converts new construction facility data into financial terms and applies business case justification over the life of the facility for repair and replacement decisions to help clients optimize the value of their buildings. With FAM, future conditions are forecasted, long-term capital budgets are developed, and multiple corrective actions are prioritized based on ROI.

Vertex is a web-based facility decision support system based on mathematical algorithms applied to objective data from field assessments. It creates multi-year budget projections that optimize repair and replacement decisions within budgetary constraints.

A&P Vice President Mark Liska added that "the alliance leverages the depth and project management strengths of both organizations, the national cost database of our firm, and Vertex, the engineering management system developed by MACTEC."

MACTEC, based in Alpharetta, GA, is a leading infrastructure engineering firm focused on four strategic business practice areas: Facilities, Transportation, Water, and Energy. With annual revenues over $450 million, MACTEC's 3,000-plus employees work from over 80 offices nationwide. MACTEC consistently ranks in the top 10% of Engineering News-Record's Top 500 Design Firms.

A&P (www.a-p.com), founded in 1946, provides construction management and general contractor services. The family-owned company has a total annual volume approaching $1 billion and is ranked among the top 75 U.S. construction companies.
