MACTEC, INC. COMPLETES NEW ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

ATLANTA, GA and GOLDEN, CO, Oct. 18, 2002 -- MACTEC, Inc. ('MACTEC') announced it has finalized its organizational structure. Bruce C. Coles, chairman and chief executive officer, made the announcement.

MACTEC (www.mactec.com) now has two operating units - MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc. ('MEC') and MACTEC Development Corp. ('MDC'). Both operating units report directly to Coles, who will also serve as president of MEC. Dean L. Quamme is serving as acting general manager of MDC (which comprises nuclear services and risk management services) until a new president is named. Scott E. State, MACTEC's former chairman and chief executive officer, will continue to serve as a board member for the holding company.

"We're confident that this new structure will enhance our growth strategies as we move into a new era," Coles said. "We also expect that long-term client relationships will benefit from the expanded depth and geographic reach of this enterprise."

Earlier this year, MACTEC acquired all of the outstanding shares of Law Companies Group, Inc.'s common and preferred stock.

MACTEC is a $524 million environmental, engineering, construction management, and infrastructure services firm with 4,000 employees in over 100 offices nationwide.
