MACTEC, ROYAL HASKONING INK STRATEGIC ALLIANCE AGREEMENT

ALPHARETTA, GA, Nov. 2, 2006 -- MACTEC and Netherlands-based Royal Haskoning have signed a strategic alliance agreement. Bruce C. Coles, president of MACTEC E&C and chairman & CEO of MACTEC, Inc., the holding company (www.mactec.com) - made the announcement.

Royal Haskoning was founded in 1881 (originally as Van Hasselt & De Koning; the title 'Royal' took effect with its 100th anniversary) and has 3,200 employees and 90 offices in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. The firm's main client base is government, international financial institutes, oil & gas, chemical, and pulp & paper industries, school boards and hospitals. Royal Haskoning is also actively involved with the implementation of the European Union's REACH (Registration, Evaluation & Authorization of Chemicals) legislation in industry, which prescribes new environmental and safety standards for the production and sale of chemicals, due to take effect in April 2007.

According to MACTEC Senior Vice President Richard Garrison, Royal Haskoning previously didn't have any representation in the U.S.

"Royal Haskoning will be looking to MACTEC to help them service their internationally-based clients in the U.S.," Garrison said. "We also see emerging opportunities to work with Royal Haskoning in China, where they have four offices, and as our primary international environmental partner."

MACTEC, based in Alpharetta, GA, is a $436 million environmental, engineering, construction management, and infrastructure services firm with 3,000 employees in over 90 offices nationwide.
