MACTEC WINS CONTRACTS FOR PROJECTS IN MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA KEYS

ALPHARETTA, GA, Dec. 3, 2008 -- MACTEC Engineering and Consulting (MACTEC) has been awarded contracts from the City of Miami Beach and Islamorada, FL to provide construction engineering and inspection services, and geotechnical engineering services, respectively. J. Allen Kibler, Jr., President of MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, (www.mactec.com), made the announcement.

According to Senior Vice President and Florida Area Manager Richard Minichiello, MACTEC will act as Miami Beach's consultant providing basic services on an 'as needed basis. Islamorada is an incorporated village (Dec. 31,1997) in Monroe County on the islands of Lower Matecumbe Key, Upper Matecumbe Key, Windley Key and Plantation Key in the Florida Keys. Minichiello said MACTEC will also provide services on a continuing basis for various geotechnical projects for Islamorada.

Examples of the type of engineering analysis work that may be requested include air content, compression testing, field sampling, pile capacity, and settlement. Design/construction recommendations may encompass earthworks, foundations, groundwater control, and pavement.
