STARTEL INTRODUCES REVERSE 911

IRVINE, Calif., May 14, 2002 -- Startel Corporation (http://www.startelcorp.com) has unveiled Reverse 911, a powerful contingency planning tool that quickly notifies and tracks thousands of staff in an emergency. Barbara Willis, the firm's Vice President, made the announcement.

Reverse 911 automatically dials out to pagers, cell phones, home phones and PDAs - no more manual phone-list dialing, paging or cell phone messaging to reach staffers. The dispatch routine can call multiple numbers (cascade), perform multiple attempts and deliver multiple messages per called party. Comprehensive status reports show who was contacted and when, time of response, even type of call (pager, cell phone, PDA).

"Reverse 911 is also ideal for non-emergency applications, such as shift scheduling and determining staff availability," Willis said. "It's easy to program, manage and customize."

Reverse 911 lets multiple ports transmit and receive multiple transmissions simultaneously so administrators can determine what is needed to meet any requirement. Functions are also password protected at the administrative level as well as for the called party. The system can be configured to accept calls and transmit responses only after a password is entered.
