BORDEAUX, France, March 30, 2011 – Stantum (www.stantum.com), a pioneer developer of multi-touch technology, announced that software industry veteran Pekka Sivonen has been appointed chairman of the company's board of directors.
In 1997, Sivonen founded Digia, a Finnish software company now quoted on the Helsinki Stock Exchange and listed on NASDAQ OMX Helsinki (DIG1V).
"I am honored to serve on Stantum's board along with the other members," said Sivonen. "Stantum is committed to deliver the most advanced multi-touch technology to the consumer market, and I look forward to contributing to the spread of digital resistive multi-touch".
Sivonen is currently a board member of Digia Plc and was previously full-time chairman of the board of directors and CEO. He has served as chairman of The Finnish National Emergency Supply Agency's Technology Pool since 2007. In addition, Sivonen is chairman of Technology Development International Ltd, BlueWhite Resorts Ltd and Comma Group Ltd. Since 2005, Sivonen has also been member of the Finnish Association of Professional Board Members.
"Pekka Sivonen brings to Stantum the vision and experience of an industry pioneer who founded a start-up that is now a publicly-held, global company with more than 1,400 employees," said Stantum CEO Robert Pelissier. "His guidance will be invaluable as Stantum continues to expand worldwide."
In addition to Sivonen, Stantum's board of directors comprises Philippe Granger (Auriga Partners), Valéry Huot (CDC Innovation), Guillaume Largillier (co-founder, Stantum), and Nicolas Rose (Xange Private Equity).
Stantum (www.stantum.com) has been the pioneering company in multi-touch technology since 2002, and in 2005 was the first company to market commercial products using a truly reliable multi-touch user interface. Today, Stantum's patented and breakthrough multi-touch technology portfolio is available under license of IP bricks and associated engineering and design services. Stantum is headquartered in Bordeaux, France.
