HARTE-HANKS EXPANDS Ci PIPELINE SERVICE: IDENTIFIES OVER 7,000 MID-MARKET INITIATIVES

SAN DIEGO, CA - July 22, 2009 -- Harte-Hanks, Inc. (NYSE:HHS), a worldwide direct and targeted marketing company, has now expanded its Ci Pipeline™ lead generation service. The expansion includes tracking thirteen technology initiatives in the mid-market arena. Over 7,000 mid-market initiatives have been identified over the past 60 days totaling an estimated $329 million in potential IT spend.

The mid-market is defined by Harte-Hanks Market Intelligence as businesses with an estimated annual IT spend of between $50,000 and $250,000. The mid-market technology initiatives tracked by Ci Pipeline include facility moves and renovations; planned purchases of ERP software, network services, computer hardware, or unified communications solutions; new compliance initiatives; Windows 7 adoption; and planned deployment of Voice over IP, server virtualization, storage area networks, or security infrastructure.

"Identifying these opportunities provides a valuable service to our clients seeking to penetrate the mid-market for technology products and services," said Tino Kokkinos, managing director for Harte-Hanks Market Intelligence. "By identifying planned purchases in several key technology infrastructure areas, we can help our clients really hone in on what's important in this vast and increasingly attractive market, and try to avoid wasting marketing resources in parts of the mid-market not likely to invest in technology in the near future."

In addition to tracking technology spending initiatives, Ci Pipeline identifies the exact locations of the initiatives as well as budget, decision-maker, and purchasing timeframe. These decision makers include senior IT/PC/network/security/business and software applications managers. After undergoing a rigorous quality control process at Harte-Hanks, an opportunity alert including budget, authority, need and timing (BANT) information is then pushed directly to the seller's desktop or mobile phone inbox.

During the first half of 2009, Ci Pipeline identified over $5 billion in 78 categories of planned technology expenditures, including purchases in computer hardware, software, storage, networking and telecommunications initiatives. Ci Pipeline was developed by Harte-Hanks by leveraging more than 40 years of experience in collecting and verifying key market data for the Ci Technology Database.
