HARTE-HANKS EXPANDS CI PIPELINE SERVICE TO EUROPE: IDENTIFIES OVER 2,700 PLANNED TECHNOLOGY INITIATIVES

SAN DIEGO, CA - Aug. 3, 2009 -- Harte-Hanks, Inc. (NYSE:HHS), a worldwide direct and targeted marketing company, has expanded its Ci Pipeline TM lead generation service to capture technology sales opportunities within seventeen European countries. More than 2,700 technology initiatives have been identified over the past 60 days totaling an estimated € 64.4 million in potential IT spend.

As a result of the expansion, Ci Pipeline now provides technology vendors direct access to planned technology initiatives and decision-makers at businesses in 17 European countries including Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

The technology initiatives tracked include planned investments in computer hardware and software, storage, telecommunications, and networking solutions. Security, compliance and IT outsourcing are also among the planned initiatives identified.

Overall, the Ci Pipeline service identifies 36 specific areas of planned spending such as server and storage virtualization, ERP/CRM software, unified communications (UCS), disaster recovery, and facilities moves or renovations, to name a few.

Expansion of the Ci Pipeline service to Europe is part of several recent expansions by Harte-Hanks Market Intelligence to address the global market, shifting economies, and marketing trends.

"As a global organization, our job is to discover and stay on top of trends wherever they may be," said Tino Kokkinos, managing director of Harte-Hanks Market Intelligence. "But discovering it is not enough. The value of the Ci Pipeline service is that it's based on proven methodologies that produce and deliver targeted, high-quality intelligence to our customers so they can stay ahead of their competition in what has become a very competitive market for technology products and services throughout the world, but especially in North America and Europe."

Ci Pipeline Europe is currently available in both United Kingdom and U.S. English, with five more major languages planned by the end of the year. Like other Ci Pipeline intelligence, all leads and information provided to sellers will be in their selected language.

In addition to tracking technology spending initiatives, Ci Pipeline identifies the exact locations of the initiatives as well as budget, decision-maker, and purchasing timeframe. These decision makers include senior IT/PC/network/security/business and software applications managers. After undergoing a rigorous quality control process at Harte-Hanks, an opportunity alert including budget, authority, need and timing (BANT) information is then pushed directly to the seller's desktop or mobile phone inbox.

During the first half of 2009, Ci Pipeline identified over $5 billion in 78 categories of planned technology expenditures, including purchases in computer hardware, software, storage, networking and telecommunications initiatives. Ci Pipeline was developed by Harte-Hanks by leveraging more than 40 years of experience in collecting and verifying key market data for the Ci Technology Database.
