Harte-Hanks Announces Major Expansion of Email Contacts in CiTechnology Database

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 29, 2011Harte-Hanks, Inc. (NYSE:HHS), a worldwide direct and targeted marketing company, announces a major expansion of its flagship product, the Ci Technology Database™ (CiTDB), more than doubling the number of contacts with email addresses. The CiTDB, one of the largest and most comprehensive databases of its kind, now contains nearly two million key contacts with emails that complement its detailed business technology profiles helping marketers increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their lead generation programs.

PC Connection, a direct marketer of a wide range of information technology products and services, uses the CiTDB to fuel their email demand generation programs. "The true value of the Ci Technology Database lies in getting in front of the right audience with our message," according to Jim O'Dowd, vice president of Marketing Services at PC Connection.  "The CiTDB gives us the ability to direct messages to the contacts most likely to purchase a particular solution – based on data such as known vendors, purchase initiatives and installed technology - which in turn drives response rates."

Originally launched in 1969, the CiTDB provides intelligence on the businesses that comprise over 90% of the annual IT and telecommunications spend in the U.S., Canada and Europe. CiTDB profiles include company demographics, installed technology and vendors, IT budgets and staffing, as well as Harte-Hanks proprietary Purchase Likelihood Scores (PLS) and Installation Likelihood Scores (ILS) which predict the likelihood of the types of technologies a business has installed or is planning to purchase. Contacts in the CiTDB are grouped by area of functional responsibility and include a wide range of both technology and business decision-makers, such as president/general manager/CEO, senior sales executive, business compliance manager, senior information systems manager, telecommunications manager, and IT influencer.

"This latest expansion will help our customers save time and money because they don't have to wade through mountains of contacts to find the ones that matter," said Tino Kokkinos, managing director of Harte-Hanks Market Intelligence. "With the upward trend in digital marketing, technology marketers need reliable intelligence now more than ever to increase the relevance of their messaging and drive meaningful conversations with their customers and prospects."
