HOUSTON, June 23, 2009 -- Network Box Corp., a worldwide managed security company, now has an Apple iPhone/iPod touch application, according to its American arm, Network Box USA, Inc. (www.networkboxusa.com). The application gives customers mobile access into the Network Box Office Customer Portal, a powerful web-based user interface that provides real-time status of their Network Box appliances and enables two-way communication with the company's network operating centers that monitor the equipment and networks.
Free of charge to Network Box customers, the application is available from Apple App Stores and can be downloaded and installed onto any iPhone (including the newly introduced 3G S) or iPod touch device. From there, customers can manage their Network Box inventory - e.g., VPN, contracts, and health of their Network Box appliances - as well as view, create and respond to tickets. The application also provides a screen that shows important issues from the Network Box Security Response web site, which keeps software and signatures up-to-date.
"Our customers will now be able to get all this valuable information on their iPhone or iPod, and it will be especially useful for those who have more than one of our UTM devices," said Pierluigi Stella, CTO of Network Box USA. ">From wherever they are, customers can check the status for each box. If something's critical, it's indicated in red, if it's an alert or warning it's orange, and if it's green, all is working properly. They can also open tickets and interact with us from the iPhone, without having to reach for a computer."
The Network Box is a remotely-managed unified threat management (UTM) appliance that combines several applications - including firewall, IDP/IDS, anti-malware, anti-spam, and content filtering - into a single, cost-effective device that lets organizations easily combat hackers, worms, backdoors and other online menaces. The company's services include 24/7 monitoring that assess the threat level for every client. It also checks about 120 points of the box's health to ensure that everything from hardware to software to signatures is running smoothly.
More information is available from Network Box USA, 2825 Wilcrest, Suite 259, Houston, Texas 77042; telephone 832-242-5758 or (toll free) 888-315-8886; fax: 713-933-0290; or email info@networkboxusa.com.
Network Box USA, Inc. (www.networkboxusa.com), the American arm of Network Box Corp., was formed in response to the escalating danger posed by security breaches, virus attacks and similar threats arising from widespread use of the Internet. Its mission is to provide enterprises of all sizes with a cutting-edge computer network security solution that is effective yet affordable. The company's flagship product, the Network Box appliance, has won numerous awards for excellence and is now in the forefront of UTM (unified threat management), the next generation of firewall technology. Among Network Box USA's customers, the product has been especially embraced by banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions.
